Kund Bangla

Kund Bangla, (approx. 2500 meters) is an NWFP Forest Department's rest house located at a mountaintop overlooking Shinkairi. Like Sharan, it also is a wilderness and in somewhat pristine state because few tourist venture here. I have been there twice and both my visits were in December. The place was almost deserted except for the staff of the rest house. There was heavy snowfall and it was really really cold there. From the lawn of the Rest House, one can have excellent views of Makra, Sri and the flat peak of Mussay Ka Musalla (Mussay's Praying Mat).

The dirt road to Kund Bangla starts from Shinkairi (approx. thirty minutes drive from Mansehra), a town on main Kara Korum Highway. The NWFP Forest Department's Rest House is the only place for stay in Kund Bangla.
